PRACTICE

When I first tried my hand at watercolor I found it was like entering a whole new world. I had been experienced in creating art in the past but never watercolor. I was surprised to find I had to paint quite a few images before I could come up with anything good. It was humbling for sure.

Since I've been in touch with other artists on the Internet, especially through Instagram, I've learned that we all have to practice. It's a warm up sort of thing. Calligraphers and watercolor artists alike.

Here is a tree painting I did recently without having a finished look in mind. Just relaxing and having fun doodling. It's not always the case, but this painting was quickly done without any preliminary drawings. Just brush strokes and dabbling in color.

You can find it on Etsy.
