A PAGE FROM MY JOURNAL

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

The time of the crimson clover has passed in the hills above Chico. But it was beautiful while it was blooming.

I feature this page out of my watercolor journal because I'm interested in sharing a few things with you that don't really have anything to do with cards or art prints. It's just that I love to paint. I love to do lots of other things too, like spend time with family and loved ones. But the creation of art is such a strong part of me that from childhood until today I have never been able to "not do it". I take that back. The first year after having lost my late husband I was unable to create. I guess it was a response to my grief. Otherwise, I've mostly drawn. But now that I can watercolor I feel there is no limit to what I can create. What I do with it is the subject of this post.

Beyond sharing art that is refined with Photoshop and Illustrator, I journal for my own joy. It don't scan the pages, I don't try to improve anything I just create as I learn and I enjoy the fun of it. Today I want to share a page out of my journal that was entered in a few days from the end of April to the start of May. This is what was blooming in our beautiful Chico hills. What a show it was. What a privilege to be able to take some blossoms to my desk and paint them. What an adventure in learning. What joy to my heart and what gratitude I experience to my Creator.
