My surgery and the Paradise Camp Fire came close to one another, and now that I am able to drive and walk with a cane, it's like waking up out of a bad dream. Now I'm able to grieve and miss my friends in Paradise who have been through so much. What do we say to someone who has fled their home with flames licking at their heals? Sometimes words just don't don't help and silence is required. But God is there in all circumstances and His word never returns void.
